Advantages of sla rapid prototyping
1.Stable working system.Once the work begins,the whole prototype building process will be done all automatically,no manual watching required,till the end.
2.High precision.The sla rapid prototypes can be ensured within 0.1mm.
3.Smooth surface.The prototype top surface is finely smooth,yet there would be some toolings marks on the sides.
4.Fine resolution.For the fine resolution,so able to build parts with complex structure.

Disadvantages of sla rapid prototyping
1.The moisture in the resin will be absorbed by the air over the time,the part will curve at the thin soft position.
2.The lifetime of the Helium - cadmium laser tube used on sla machine is only 3000 hours,moreover, it is expensive.Also,the scanning should be covered the entire surface section,takes long time to form the prototype,these 2 points make sla rapid prototyping a little higher cost.
3.Available material is quite limited,must be resin photosensitive resin.As far as the material charactoeristic is concerned,it doesn t resist for long time using or heating tests;and it does harm to the environment,easy to cause skin allergic.
4.To guarantee every strucuture is stable and fixed well,supporting fixtures will be demanded for sla rapid prototyping.

So above all ,sla rapid prototyping owns its strong advantages on parts with complex structure ,and for fitting test objectives up to now,yet there are still limits.A new kind of low shrinking ,faster solidifying and stronger material is supposed to be developed for its wider application.
